Sponsor a Teenager's Education
 |
| Fr Ignatius with some of the students |
Ariba recognises the importance of education and has introduced a scheme that allows individuals to sponsor secondary education for teenagers in Zambia. The average cost of sponsoring a teenager’s secondary education is £15 a month. If the child has no home we can provide a boarding school which brings the cost to £20 a month. Alternatively, if you do not wish to support a child individually then you may wish to donate to our Sponsorship Programme by making a donation or a monthly direct debit. This will help Ariba to fund children without individual sponsors.
If you are interested in sponsoring a child's secondary education, then please contact Caron Callaghan for more information on Tel: 01908 376578 or email aribanews@gmail.com

"My name is Tendai Makala born in the family of eight, sadly my parent died when I was very young. So I can't tell much about them. Life is so hard on my family because no one is working to provide us with food and other basic human needs. This is the first time in my life to seek for help. I want to be educated so that I can help my family and others. I want to be a medical doctor when I finish school. My education background is as follows; I started school in 1998 and I was to complete this year, unfortunately the last parent I had died when I was about to write my grade nine examination. For this reason, I never wrote my examination. I had to wait for one year in the village for an opportunity to write the next examination. The opportunity came and I wrote the examination. My joy was short lived, what followed was my saddest and loneliest year. Despite having had passed my grade nine examinations there was no one to take me to school. My brother, our first born endeavoured to do some temporal work to get me to school. After a lot of hard work he managed to pay for the first term. So I went to school and was more than ready to do my very best. I experienced a set back when my brother who was supporting me also died. I had problems again to get into the school. I would be happy if ARIBA would help me to finish my secondary education and help me to realise my dream. I love you all people of good will who are helping ARIBA, may God bless you in everything you do."
Help Ariba give more individuals this opportunity so that they can one day support their own communities. Together we can successfully Build Futures!
